The HELPER line combines a product elevator, multihead weigher or scale, transfer path and rotary fill-and-seal packaging machine. Frozen dumplings enter the elevator, are distributed into weighing heads, combined to the target mass and discharged into an opened premade pouch. The rotary machine then completes the programmed bag-handling and sealing sequence.

The source names dumplings, gyoza, wontons and khinkali as target products. These products are fragile, irregular and prone to surface frost, so a packaging system must be selected by more than nominal weight. Elevator drop height, bucket geometry, weigher surfaces and discharge timing affect wrapper cracking, chipped edges and product bridging.

Reliable output requires handshake logic between the elevator, weigher and bagger. The elevator must slow or stop before the weigher overfills; the weigher should not discharge unless a pouch is open and correctly positioned; the bagger must reject or stop when a pouch fails to open. Why speed varies

Large fill weights require more product to settle into the weigher and pass through the pouch mouth. Frosty or interlocked dumplings can bridge, and delicate thin wrappers may require slower acceleration and lower drop height. Bag opening and seal dwell also depend on pouch stiffness and laminate.

Product and pouch validation

Test frozen product under real factory conditions

Provide dumpling dimensions, unit weight, shape, wrapper thickness, surface flour, product temperature, frost condition and breakage limit. Tests should use product from normal freezing and storage rather than selected dry samples. Track cracked wrappers, chipped corners, clumps and product remaining in buckets after discharge.

Provide premade pouch drawing, laminate structure, thickness, zipper or gusset, surface treatment, print registration and seal specification. Confirm pouch size against the published range and allow enough headspace for filling without contaminating the seal area.

Cold-room and hygiene design

If installed in a cold packing room, confirm component ratings for low temperature and condensation. Warm electrical cabinets can create moisture during shutdown. Surfaces above exposed product must not shed condensate, lubricant or fasteners.

Cleaning validation should cover elevator buckets, weigher pans, chutes, funnel, pouch-fill zone and product-contact guards. Ask which parts are removable without tools, how wash water is controlled and which components require dry cleaning.

Factory acceptance test

Measure accepted packs, giveaway and product damage

Run each product and pouch format across its proposed speed range. Record requested speed, accepted bags per minute, mean weight, standard deviation, underweights, giveaway, failed pouch pickup, failed opening, seal contamination, leaks, broken dumplings and stops. Use a sustained run long enough to include pouch replenishment and product feed variation.

Perform seal-strength and leak tests at start-up, stable production and after a restart. Verify date coding, no-bag/no-fill logic, low-product response, downstream blockage, emergency stops and guard interlocks. If gas flushing is included, measure residual oxygen and consumption using the actual pouch.

Confirm utilities and floor loading, safe access to the 2.6 m-high weighing platform, stairs and handrails, maintenance clearance, drainage and product recovery. The initial spare package should cover heaters, seal jaws, thermocouples, vacuum cups, pouch grippers, elevator buckets, weigher load cells and recommended wear parts.

FAQ

Frozen dumpling packing questions

Does the line make dumplings?

No. It receives already formed, normally frozen dumplings and weighs them into premade pouches. Dumpling forming is a separate upstream process.

Is 60 bags per minute guaranteed?

No. It is the top of the published range. Contract output must be proven for the actual pack weight, pouch and acceptable product-damage level.

Can it pack other frozen foods?

Potentially, if their size, flow behaviour, fragility and sanitation needs suit the elevator, weigher and pouch opening. Every product requires a trial.
