Food Production OEE Calculator

Measure OEE and separate time, speed and quality losses in a food production line.

Calculate availability, performance, quality and OEE

Enter one consistent production period. The calculator separates the three OEE factors so the dominant loss can be investigated rather than hidden inside one output figure.

Who should use this calculator?

Production managers

Compare lines, shifts and products using the same loss structure.

Maintenance teams

Separate downtime losses from speed and quality losses.

Improvement engineers

Build a baseline before changing equipment, staffing or process settings.

OEE = Availability x Performance x Quality

How to read the three losses

Availability

Time lost to breakdowns, setup, cleaning, waiting and other recorded stops.

Performance

Output lost because the line runs below the validated ideal rate or experiences small stops.

Quality

Output lost through rejects, rework or product that does not meet release criteria.

OEE calculator FAQ

Can OEE exceed 100%?

It should not. A result above 100% usually means the ideal cycle time or production counts are inconsistent.

Should planned cleaning be counted as downtime?

Define the planned production period consistently. If cleaning occurs inside that period, record it as a stop.

Can different products use the same ideal cycle?

Only when the validated ideal rate is genuinely identical. Product-specific standards are normally required.
