Design the joint before judging the bead.

A visually smooth weld cannot rescue an unsuitable overlap, inaccessible corner, dead space or unsealed hollow structure. Drawings should identify the hygienic zone and finished joint profile.

Control welding as a process.

Procedure, operator qualification, material traceability, cleanliness, purge/shielding and repair rules affect weld integrity and corrosion behavior. Acceptance should be defined before fabrication.

Surface roughness is one measurement, not the conclusion.

A stated roughness value does not describe scratches, pits, laps, weld mismatch, embedded contamination, directionality or difficult geometry. Specify the measurement method, locations and visual/functional acceptance together.

Record the exact part, use condition and document scope. A material family name or visual inspection is not enough to support a model-specific conclusion.
